Bacon Wrapped Smokies

Comment – The combination of flavors in this recipe is delicious.  There is a smokey flavor from the meat and a sweet flavor that comes from the brown sugar. My sister gave me this recipe years ago and it always gets rave reviews.

Ingredients
1 pound sliced bacon, cut into thirds
1 (16 ounce) package little smokie sausages
3/4 cup brown sugar, or to taste
Toothpicks

Directions
Cut bacon into thirds. Wrap bacon around smokies and secure with toothpick. Arrange in cake pan. Sprinkle brown sugar over the top of bacon wrapped smokies and bake at 350 until sugar is melted – about 30 minutes. Can transfer to crock pot to keep warm or arrange on a platter for good presentation.
